The Balance of Opposites
This morning, a lesser-known arch frames Lone Pine Peak as first light hits the crest. The granite holds cool shadow while the distant peaks ignite in warm sunrise color, and a nearly full moon hangs on for a few more minutes before slipping toward the horizon. It’s a small alignment, easy to miss, but which captures a fleeting balance of opposites: night/day, high/low, above/below, inside/outside, bright/dark, earth/sky, warm/cool.
