Daniel Mitler - Fine Art Landscape Photographer
I’m Daniel (but you can call me Dan), an award-winning landscape photographer drawn to the quiet, powerful moments found in wild places.
From alpine basins at first light to deserts shaped by wind and time, I spend as much time as possible exploring remote landscapes and photographing the subtle interplay between light, land, and atmosphere. Time spent outdoors has always felt grounding — a counterbalance to the pace, noise, and abstraction of modern life — and photography is how I translate those experiences into something tangible.
As human activity continues to place increasing pressure on the planet’s remaining wild spaces, I believe connection matters more than ever. Clean air and water, biodiversity, climate stability, and countless ecosystem services all depend on healthy natural systems — yet these places often feel distant or invisible in everyday life. My work is rooted in the belief that experiencing beauty fosters care, and that care is the foundation for long-term protection.
Rather than chasing spectacle alone, I aim to create images that convey a sense of presence — moments of awe shaped by light, movement, and scale, from the stillness of early morning to the power of water, wind, and vast night skies. Many of my photographs are made on long hikes, backpacking trips, and extended time outdoors, where patience and observation matter more than convenience.
My photography has been recognized by international competitions, juried exhibitions, and publications, but the true reward is knowing an image resonates with someone — whether it recalls a place they love, inspires them to explore somewhere new, or brings a moment of calm into their space.
I create fine art landscape photography to be lived with — images that carry the quiet power of wild places into everyday spaces. If they inspire you to slow down, step outside, and seek your own moments of wonder, then they’ve done their job.
